How to quickly remove blank rows and columns in Excel – using Power Query

In this tutorial I want to show you how to quickly solve a problem that can be a real PITA when dealing with data. If you need to filter/sort data or create a pivot table from it, Excel just works better when your data has the following characteristics:

  • No blank rows
  • No blank columns
  • Like with like e.g. put all your dates of birth together
  • Repeating data spelled the same way

In this tutorial I want to show you how you can do this really quickly in Power Query. It is much much quicker and more efficient to do it in Power Query rather than trying to do it manually.  If you are interested in expanding your knowledge on Power Query – here are some resources
