In the post today, I’m going to look at how you can use your Excel list of names, addresses and email addresses to send a mass mailing (mail merge).

However, one thing I would say is that if you find yourself doing this regularly, you would probably be better off investing in something like AWeber (which allows you to target specific lists, easily create newsletters, schedule automatic mailings, create autoresponders) or Mailchimp or some other email programme.

Use Word and Excel to create a mass emailing

So I have a list of names and email addresses here using my usual fakenamegenerator data.

Unfortunately they don’t have an Ireland option so I have decided to use Australia but I have also decided to use some fake hobbit names.

Here is the sample letter I  used. Or you could make up your own one.

Dear <<Title>>, <<GivenName>> <<Surname>>

Please find some information below about upcoming courses in your city

<<City>>

I hope to hear from you soon.

Use Word and Excel to create a set of customised letters

In this video, I’m going to look at how you would create a set of letters to send to your customers.

Here is the letter.

«Title» «GivenName» «Surname»

«City»

«StateFull»

Dear «Title» «Surname»

Please find some information below about upcoming courses in your city
