Using SUMIFS to extract data – Part One

In this tutorial I want to show you how to use the Sumifs() function to get a total from a list where you have a combination of factors. In this one, I have set it up where we need to calculate a total between two values but also by packet type. This can be a really good alternative to pivot tables – but also you can check your answers by filtering as I show you in this video.

The sumifs does have a quite quirky syntax. The Microsoft help is not great with this to be honest but this article gives you a quite comprehensive explanation.
