Quick Clever way to fill down in Excel

Recently, I was prepping some additional materials for my 90 minute Pivot Table Webinar (sorry, it’s over now but an online version is in the works) and I came across a clever trick to fill in missing data.

Here is the file I used (I used ChatGPT to generate this sample data)

  1. Select the data from B4 to B44
  2. Click on Home | Find & Select | Go To  | Special
  3. Click Blanks and then OK
  4. Click in B5
  5. Type in =, and then press up to select cell B4
  6. Press Ctrl and Enter to copy the formula into all selected cells.
  7. This completes all the entries.
