How to use checkboxes in Excel to track attendance

One of the newer features in Excel is the checkbox. It was possible to create checkboxes in older versions of Excel but it was invariably clunky and challenging. It is now available in Office 365.

In this tutorial I want to show you how to do the following:

  • Combine two cells together using the newer Textjoin() feature
  • Add checkboxes
  • Change the colour of the checkboxes
  • Using them in a formula to calculate percentage attendance using the Countifs() and Counta() function
